BARE TO BOLD.
A fashion film exploring body adornment being used to promote confidence and becoming our authentic selves. The accompanying photoshoot merges the themes of indie sleeze and 00s party era, creating a catalogue of images that resonates with these feelings of being carefree, confident and sexy.
Within the film, we start with our models in their basic and minimal clothing, no makeup, jewellery or accessories. As the video progresses, you see the models adding layers to their outfits as well as their confidence and happiness. We asked them to bring the outfit that makes them feel most confident; you can see how much this affects their overall presence within the film.

To tackle this brief, we first thought of what areas of fashion made us feel like our most confident and authentic selves. We discovered that it came down to the smaller details of an outfit, jewellery, bags and hair accessories, that made us feel complete. We researched into different eras of history, the way fashion is ever-changing as well as the development of social media plummeting the general levels of confidence in our society. Through trend research, we knew the nihilistic aspects of the noughties party era was making a return, needed in the face of social and political uncertainty. Therefore, we created a concept to bring this sentiment to life.
